The excutive king suite was absolutely amazing !!
You could hear other guest talking in there room .
very small rooms, not enough seating area, loft design easy to bump ones head, even for short people , room on a whole was just to crampy , choppy and we were not at all pleased with the room
Location in the heart of Downtown, cannot be beat. Room was nice and complimentray breakfast was a nice start to each day.
The first room we were in was VERY noisy, directly above a bar. Staff were able to move us to a quiet room the next day.
Size of the room and the decor.
The carpeting in the room was disgusting....BIG Dark stains all over it. No sound proofing...heard folks outside and the folks above beating the hell out of the bed. The price was way to high for what this place is No room service so even a romantic night they have nothing to offer other a jacuzzi that the housing for the tub felt like it was going to fall off its foundation. No Hotel Shuttle Even the taxi that picked me up .. the driver wouldn't get out of the car to assist or even asked to help out. Local restaurants in the Hotel booklet...90% Were pizza joints. To sum it up..dirty and no services other than what any hotel should be expected to offer. WAY over priced for what one expect to get.
Poor price, poor bed, poor soap,
nice room, jacusi fireplace, oversized shower
Its rustic layout of the rooms and location
Pricing of room and no restaurant
What attracted us to this hotel was the authenticity of the building with exposed beams and a courtyard attached to other businesses. Its location bridged the harbour with the city, the historic with the modern. It provided an excellent starting point for getting to know St. John's by foot because it connected to Duckworth/Water Street out one door and Harbour Drive and the pedestrian walkway along the harbour out the other door. Breakfast was predictable but good, nothing noteworthy. The concierge went out of her way to book things, find maps for us, and help in any way. Over the course of our stay we became friends with various staff and missed them when we moved further out of downtown into a B&B for the extra weeks of our stay.
The DVD player did not work; the large-screen TV was not new enough to have a port to connect to computer movie links; there was no availability of DVDs to use anyway.
Great room for a great price with a great location
I would like some real soap. The soap provided just doesn't lather.. Also a couple of candles for the tub with some bath oil(the wife made me say it)
Location Large room
Lighting in roon poor Lack of sound proofing from room above Complimentary breakfast mediocre
Loved the room upgrade, the breakfast, the shower, the pillows, the overall elegant ambiance of days gone by.
Didn't like the soap. We had to purchase some from a local store. Our room could have used a second comfortable chair. We missed having a restaurant in the hotel.
the location is perfect for touring and visiting sites, shopping and bars / restaurants. Our suite was perfect for us.
No shuttle to shopping malls as advertised. No restaurant on site as renovations were taking place. Very helpful staff. Good continental breakfast
Lovely furnishings, frie ndly staff, very clean
Too noisy, apparently an ongoing problem the room above us was very noisy laughing and the toilet could be heard flushing all the time.
Beautiful hotel! Excellent location!
I was not fond of the glass bathroom. Did not like the fact that no one could shower or even use the bathroom (we did not have a door to the toliet area) when our friends were in the room. The bathroom was gorgeous but should have a curtain so you have the option of privacy.
The location was probably the best thing about the hotel.
The cable was out for our entire stay and we were not able to have late check-out. Also, the room that was depicted in the picture prior to booking was not the room we were given. The deluxe continential breakfest was nothing more than cereal, toast/bagel, jams, coffee and perhaps an egg if there were any. That is not considered deluxe, I can get more from a Super 8 or a Holiday Inn. Disappointing stay and way over priced.
